چکیده
Background: The antimicrobial effect of Warburgia ugandensis has been recognized for many years in developing countries especially East Africa. However, limited investigations have focused on its microorganisms causing urinary tract infection.
Objective: To determine the activity selected standard that cause infections i.e. Escherichia coli (ATCC 25922), Candida albicans 10231), Proteus mirabilis 25933), and Staphylococcus aureus 25923).
Methods: stem bark was obtained from Tooro Botanical centre were shade dried. aqueous ethanolic extracts prepared evaluated phytochemical components using semi qualitative screening techniques. three bacteria; aureus, coli, one fungus tested by agar well diffusion broth dilution which to obtain Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (MIC) Bactericidal (MBC) plant respectively.
Results: Phytochemical showed presence tannins, flavonoids, alkaloids, saponins terpenoids both extracts. bacteria susceptible extract caused significant inhibition microbial growth with highest observed (MIC 0.49mg/ml), while less susceptibility having an MIC 1.95mg/ml so MBC/MFC, had MBC 7.81mg/ml. same pattern more (MFC 15.63mg/ml) as compared 62.5mg/ml)
Conclusion: exhibit against infection organisms. methods. This study further shows potential being a novel source modern drugs studies these results provide some new perspectives traditional uses treating infections.

Antimicrobial resistance among uropathogens that cause community-acquired urinary tract infections in women: a nationwide analysis.
Current recommendations for empirical therapy for community-acquired urinary tract infection (UTI) in women hinge on knowledge of antimicrobial susceptibility patterns in the geographic region of the practitioner. We conducted a survey of antimicrobial susceptibilities of 103,223 isolates recovered from urine samples that were obtained in 1998 from female outpatients nationally and within 9 geo...

BACKGROUND Urinary tract pathogens obtained from patients in Madagascar are becoming increasingly resistant to commonly used antibiotics that are readily available at a low price. This poses a real problem for the treatment of community-acquired urinary tract infections (UTIs) in Madagascar. OBJECTIVES To obtain data on the pathogens responsible for community-acquired UTIs in Antananarivo and...

BACKGROUND Resistance rate of Escherichia coli against antimicrobials that are commonly prescribed in pediatric urinary tract infections is currently a matter of concern. METHODS The antimicrobial susceptibility patterns of uropathogenic Escherichia coli strains to the common antibimcrobials ampicillin, cotrimoxazole, coamoxyclav, ceftazidime, ceftriaxone, nitrofurantoin, and gentamycin were ...
